Playing with Photoshop and Illustrator

Riso
On Tuesday at Uni we discovered Risograph Printing which, in a nut shell is pretty much like screen printing but cheaper, faster and in an actual printer. I LOVED it! I can't wait to experiment with it in the new year, and the best thing is its SO CHEAP!! So I've gone through my sketch book and gotten my ass onto photoshop! This will be my first trial after christmas!

Bat For Lashes

Last month I saw Bat For Lashes (Natasha Khan) Play at Manchester Cathedral. Phenomenal! Words can't even begin to describe how amazing everything about the evening was!
The day after I was fooling around in ceramics having a go at drawing into semi dry clay. I drew Natasha, I don't think it looks like her but I was happy with the outcome anyway. Also I really enjoyed the process so there may well be more of this to come!
I love how different it can look just from a slight change in lighting too.
Peace

Cake skills

Randy Marsh Cake!

A little While ago it was Joe's birthday.. Above are some of the things I got for him, along with the cake that I spent a hell of a long time making! It was totally worth it though because he loved it! Randy Marsh aka Stan's dad from South Park is his favourite character and that's why I chose him to make. The cake was a Nigella Lawson Recipe! It was DELICIOUS!!! If you want to try it it was the Buttermilk Birthday cake from her book Domestic Goddess, Page210!!
Lotsa love

Gibraltar and Morocco

The day I handed everything in for uni (in May) Joseph and I travelled home to Nottingham ready to get a plane to Gibraltar the next morning! Here are a few snaps from our journey...
We landed to this impressive view of the whole of Gibraltar!

Our hotel view
On the first full day we spent 8hours exploring the Gibraltar Rock. We took the cable car up but walked down after trekking about seeing as much we could!
A cheeky monkey came and drank from my bottle! He was a thirsty little thing!!
We got up close and personal with some of the younger monkeys!
Mummy and baby monkey.
Joseph, Monkey and Me

On day two we took an excursion to Morocco! Fascinating place, I've never experienced people on the hard sell like that before. Incredible place though!
Camel time!
Sadly because we were rushed around so quickly to fit as much into the day as possible I didn't manage to get any good shots of the tiny streets and that happenings going on!

Back in Gibraltar that evening we crossed the boarder into spain for dinner and decided we would hire a car for our final 24hours.
I need to finish the film off in our underwater camera so I can develop our photos from the beach
Spain and the runway dividing them from Gibraltar.
On our final night we watched the sunset from the rock.
The perfect end.

I came home as pale as when we left. Joe on the other hand!!

That's all for this update!

Long time no see!

It really has been a while!
Apologies!

A quick over view of what's gone on between may and now.

- I finished 2nd year of uni! Woohoo!
- Went to Gibraltar and Morocco with Joseph which was perfect :)
- Moved house. Twice! Crazy times.
- And I've Worked. A lot.

And to be honest not much else really.
The boring bit. And also my lame excuse for being a loser...
Basically, for the summer I've taken on a full time office job, to pay the rent and hopefully do some saving. Three hours of each day are spent travelling to and from work. Ball Ache!
It has been really interesting and I've learnt a lot. But me oh my it's boring as hell! Not to mention stressful! I now know I'm not made for office work!
One morning I woke up looking super tasty! Blatantly been thinking I'm hard and been sleep fighting!

I've got lots of holiday snaps so I'll post about that separately!

Office work has zilched my brain! I can't remember the last time I had an idea for anything! Need to get creative again!

Bizzle.

Update time!

Oh Hai there!
Update time. It's been a while because I'm shit at life so apologies. I have genuinely been very busy as well though... Honest.
Anyway.
To those of you who don't know. My two tumblr blogs (Yes that's three blogs in total greedy I know. So kill me.) Anyway! I've revamped them!

I have also been working on the biggest uni project of the year which is a 32 page book!! Snippets and things from that to come soon I promise! 120 sketchbook pages in to this at the moment. Deadline a looming on the 21st and there's still lots to do!
I confess, I've wasted a lot of time recently because I made the fatal mistake of downloading Temple Run on my phone. Needless to say I am hooked! Gotta try not to get distracted!!
Aaaaand finally I've been doing a lot of Bikram Yoga, still very much a beginner but loving it!! Had some positive feedback on my Dandayamana Dhanurasana pose. Ooooooh yeah. I feel so proud! If you don't know about Bikram Yoga I say look it up. It sounds crazy (90mins in about 40degree heat) but it is amazing. Honestly, I'm sleeping better, waking better, FINALLY saying goodbye to the winter belly too!
And to end here's an excellent remix! I love Pogo!! Check out the rest of his remixes!
Boo Bass (Monsters, Inc. Remix)

ExposuresExposures

Today I've been playing around with coloured flashes, flowers and exposures! I created the layered, double and triple exposures in Photoshop CS4. Photos shot on a canon EOS 40d using the flash from my Diana f+ and quality street wrappers (over the flash not the lens) because I'm a hoarder and save shit like that... Above are a few of the shots I came out with. More to come soon!
Apologies for delays between posts, I was planning on posting loads over easter but shit happens. Anyway. Here I am getting back on the game!
Enjoy
